German ↔ English Translation — via French

Two experts, two certified translations

In France, court-appointed translators are registered with a Court of Appeal for specific languages. Julie Auger-Kantor, sworn German ↔ French translator and interpreter and court-appointed expert at the Paris Court of Appeal, certifies translations between German and French. David Ameisen, court-appointed expert at the Douai Court of Appeal, certifies translations between English and French.

For a certified translation from German into English, or the other way round, the document therefore goes through French: each expert translates and certifies only their own language pair. Julie Auger-Kantor and David Ameisen work in the same office in Paris and coordinate both steps directly – you have one point of contact and one quote.

How does it work?

Frequently asked questions

Why go through French?
A court-appointed translator in France certifies translations in the languages for which they are registered. Julie Auger-Kantor is sworn for German and French, David Ameisen for English and French: French is the link between the two certifications.
What will I receive?
Two certified translations: the translation of the original document into French, then the translation of that French text into the target language. Each one is signed and stamped by the expert who produced it.
Will the recipient accept this translation?
Each step is certified by an expert registered for the language pair concerned. Requirements vary, however, from one organisation and country to another: before ordering, check with the recipient that they accept a certified translation made via French.
Is translation possible in both directions?
Yes, from German into English as well as from English into German. Only the order of the steps changes: David Ameisen starts with an English document, Julie Auger-Kantor with a German one.
