Business Translation — German ↔ French, without certification

When certification is not needed

Not every document needs a certified translation. To understand a contract before signing it, publish a website in the other language, present a project to partners or circulate a document internally, a professional translation without a stamp is enough – as long as no authority, court or notary asks for certification.

Julie Auger-Kantor, sworn German ↔ French translator and interpreter and court-appointed expert at the Paris Court of Appeal, produces these translations with the same care as her certified work. This is human translation, not machine translation.

If your document is to be submitted to an authority, a court or a notary, a certified translation will generally be required – see for example the translation of official documents or company documents.

How does it work?

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a certified translation?
A certified translation is signed and stamped by a translator registered as an expert with a Court of Appeal; authorities, courts and notaries generally require one. An uncertified professional translation is produced with the same care but carries no stamp: it is suited to information, internal use or communication.
How do I know whether I need a certified translation?
Ask the recipient. As a rule, a certified translation is required whenever a document is submitted to an authority, a court or a notary; for internal use or information only, it is not necessary.
Do you use machine translation?
No. Every translation is produced entirely by a professional translator.
